John K. Beaird is the President of The CIO Collaborative, a nationally certified WBE, provides CIO advisory and strategic consulting services for information technology (IT) executives. John specializes in IT Management Consulting – delivering IT Assessment, IT Strategic Plans, IT Demand Management and IT Governance.
Prior to joining The CIO Collaborative, John was the IT Manager over Enterprise Applications for Clark County, Nevada. During his 12 years in public service at Clark County, he oversaw all Enterprise applications, both in-house developed and commercial, for the 42 departments and over 6,000 users. John has extensive expertise in Justice/Public Safety Community. His roles and accomplishments include practical experience in all areas of IT, from building IT Teams, to managing complex environments in Help/Service Desk, desktop management, back-end server systems, database management, application development and network technologies.
His philosophy and passion are about managing information technology to meet the business needs of the office, while providing the highest level of service to the customer.
Prior to joining the Clark County District Attorney’s Office, John was the Departmental IT Administrator for the County of San Diego’s Revenue and Recovery Department in San Diego, California.
John began his career in IT by working on the early Commodore computers. Today, his passion for technology and the business-oriented management of information technology is fueled by working with IT vendors and colleges and by keeping abreast of the latest trends through continuous study and hands-on experimentation with technology.
